Nowadays we live in such close relationship with technology that we often become unaware of it. Technology is so ubiquitous and we are so accustomed to its benefits that when for some reason it's not available, we feel uncomfortable and dependent. Today, Mexico enjoys the unique opportunity to participate in this global process in concert with competitive nations and, at the same time, find–once and for all–a better quality of life and sustainable development for all Mexicans through productive, competitive and well paying jobs. |
This process requires serious hard work, responsibility, and commitment. Each one of us, from our own little corner, must try to raise the bar, become better qualified, and always exceed expectations. The information and communication technology industry is a highly dynamic sector that is in high demand and that is presenting a very attractive global market. This knowledge economy gives our country a clear opportunity to generate highly qualified jobs. These jobs will provide our companies with the necessary edge to compete in the global market. Our country needs to take advantage of this trend to promote, attract, train, and certify young technology professionals in order to create a new highly competitive generation of experts capable of competing globally. With the help of these highly qualified professionals, our country will earn the recognition and participation of the global market. The information and communication technologies not only will help us become more efficient by providing information, improving business and government strategic planning, by improving the quality of processes, and the development of human resources, but also by adding value. This added value translates into more intelligent companies and governments that will in turn provide better solutions and services to their costumers and constituents. Information technology is a necessary condition, although not sufficient to trigger competitiveness by itself. Queretaro's TIC Cluster, InteQsoft, has a clear mission and objectives and will continue to work with the authorities, focus its efforts, and ease conditions to assure that the “mental labor” continues to be highly competitive. By doing this, we will be able to successfully insert Queretaro's information and communication technologies sector into the global market, and at the same time, widen our opportunities to participate in global businesses and turn the software industry into an important pillar of our country's economic growth.
